The numbers themselves are impressive and informative – to a point – but they’re stuck in the context of one year only (2009) and to be truly helpful it would be good to look at such stats in relation to previous and successive years. I’m keen to see similar numbers for 2010 to compare the further changes in box office versus DVD as well as online consumption.
The online viewing stats are pretty cool since they’re following a trending line that doesn’t look like it wants to EVER stop – but again, this has to be considered in context with previous years and the following year of 2010.
It would also be helpful if there were similar stats for TV distribution and consumption. I think the trending line there for online viewing would should a similar – if not higher – degree of adoption.
